Hi all,
What do people think of having a Debian release party on the 24th or
27th of this month at Techblue's office in Delhi.

Things to be done for organizing it :-

a. What would be needed are .iso images of Debian Jessie in 32-bit and
64-bit (guess 64-bit would be main), a projector, some people trying
it out on their lappy/lappies and maybe tea or some soft-drink, a
samosa/ Pizza etc. and a Cake with the swirl decoration.

b. Take any topic from the release notes and share how they make a
difference in GNU/Linux.

This doesn't need to be big, at the most you will be spending an hour
or two and can tentatively be done on Friday or Monday evening.

This could also be used as an opportunity to invite some of the people
from schools who were part of the conference and could be used to share
developments with each other in an informal way. As have shared with
Vikas some of the information which is required and will be useful to us
is unknown to me at least :-

Also what information about such schools we have in terms of the schools
we know :-

a. Size of school in number of teachers and students.
b. Are the schools upto matriculation or even till 12th ?
c. Is there a computer lab ? If yes, how much of that lab is used and
which apps. or tools are used by the students most ?
d. How many students sit or can sit in the lab at one point of time ?
e. Does the school follow the Delhi School Board or some other board ?
f. Do they have some sort of IT/Computer Science teacher ? If yes what
does s/he teach ?

I am unaware of the current status of CBSE coverage not just of
computer science but other subjects as well.

If such information is known to us it would help us enormously in
budgeting and understanding the dynamics when rolling out hamara in
schools.

Looking forward to feedback.
