Hi all,
I was trying to make the "Net Neutrality" page on mediawiki and the
first thing I wanted to share are the pictures/memes which are going
around on websites/whatsapp and elsewhere. But found that the mediawiki
installation is not configured for file uploads. Can somebody do the
needful ?
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuring_file_uploads
Please follow the instructions as shared above.
Which also reminds me, perhaps some of those extensions could also be
added and configured, even if we do them @ of 1 extension a
week/fortnightly I'll be more than happy because some feature would be
added. The more user-friendly it becomes, the more people will use it.
For now, will be downloading some of the Youtube videos, seeing them and
which of them are good will put them on the wiki.
The mainstream media seems to have caught the issue as well. For
instance, the famous or infamous shill, Arnab Goswami of Times Now did
a one hour program on Net Neutrality about a week back, dunno how much
content will be therein but it is good news. See
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IAqN3_waBA for the programme.
@Everybody - what would you suggest is the best course -
There are lot of parodies, spoofs as well as informative content which
frame the debate around net neutrality. The informative content are
more small-time operators and independent outfits, the same goes for
parodies and spoofs as well.
Discussions on channels is also there but again where they would come is
the question.
Lastly, lot of celebrities are also throwing their weight behind Net
Neutrality.
I could just link dump everything with small notes as to what that video
is about, is that good enough.
On further thought, it seems to me that instead of having those links
just on the wiki, it would be better if we have it on the website which
would look more official while at the same time it will be known. The
wiki page can be used as a scratch-pad to add ideas for the campaign as
well.
Looking forward to feedback.
