Hi all,
Compared to the last cycle Debian seems it's jump-starting this time
around. The last time the jessie alpha 1 was announced was on March 19,
2014 which is almost one year after wheezy release.
The announcement made couple of days back (apologies for not sharing
this before) means that jessie would be released much more quicker than
jessie. As early as 1.5 years as usually Debian has 5-6 alphas and 2-3
RC's before we hit the final release.
Another news I have seen is that jessie point release 8.1 is round this
corner, probably in a week or two, those will be security updates.

Hello folks,
Just dropping you a quick note: I'd like to release an alpha 1 as soon
as possible. After various FTBFSes on the linux side, we're now hitting
libudev1-udeb's being uninstallable for the time being, but that might
be fixed in a few days.
That leaves us with a nice chunk of June to make that happen though.
If anyone's aware of a big defect in a package relevant for d-i, now is
the time to bring that up!
(Cc-ing -release@ FTI, even if I doubt that's needed/useful anyhow; if
it is, please tell us so that we keep you in the loop next time!)
Mraw,
KiBi.
