[Hamara-devel] What do people think about writing dummies books for schools and everyone ?

Hi all,
Few days ago, a friend of mine asked me about how she could connect with
me. While sharing some of the resources on the web, I inadvertently also
shared with her the term IRC. She was intrigued by the name and asked me
for some more details.

I mistakenly shared with her the wikipedia page about IRC

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat

If you look at the wikipedia article it's written by geeks for geeks,
the social equity and social nature of the network is just glossed over.

I searched quite a bit trying to finding a 'dummies' guide for her and
ended up pretty disappointed.

Looked up on Amazon to find disgusting prices for the same.

http://www.amazon.in/IRC-Hacks-Industrial-Strength-Tips-Tools-ebook/dp/B00947EXTE/

I also looked up various blog posts but found them to be more on the
technical side of things rather than share the social history as well as
give a funny (or even if not funny) a simple easy guide to set up IRC
using free software of their choice.

If you do not know the dummies books, here are couple of links about that.

I really hope we do think in those terms as well. That would be a real
service to the community while also serving our interests as well.

We might not use the same design, but there are lots in the dummies
books as to how to give information to a user in small dosages and have
him/her use it.

Look forward to feedback.
