OK - so the problem (caused by us) is that our paths to initrd differ
from the debian defaults.
They're is a plugin for debian-installer-launcher called "live" -
correcting the path there gets it to run.
We will probably need to build our own version of this package based on
debian sources - as we need a few changes in it.
Will take a look at that next.
