Hi Devs,

We will have some focussed effort starting tomorrow, towards getting a
final of hamara-sugam 1.0.

There is quite a lot still to do as the majority of effort so far has
been towards hamara, hamra core and getting hamara working on ARM.

Without a final release of sugam - a lot of the benefits of ARM
architecture for the desktop cannot be realised - so I think we would
all agree, sugam needs to be given more attention.

So what can you do?

1. Testing / Bugfixing

Download a copy of hamara sugam beta from
http://www.hamaralinux.org/download

Raise bugs at http://bugs.hamaralinux.org/

Discuss any of the bugs here on the mailing list or on IRC. Existing
hamara developers will help and guide anyone who has not contributed before.

2. Theme / Design

The current view is to implement the greybird theme
http://shimmerproject.org/our-projects/greybird/ and customise it with
our branding. Any designers out there might want to suggest an
alternative. Again - raise a bug if you have an opinion on this.

3. Language Support

Testing in as large a variety of Indian dialects as possible would be a
great benefit to the project. Can you help with this?

4. Documentation

The main requirement here is to go through the existing lxde
documentation that is out there and deteremine if it's fit for our
purpose (I imagine it is - but may need enhancing). Translation of the
documentation would also be very helpful.

5. Outreach

Help spread the word and publicise the hamara linux message. The more
users, testers, contributors we have the better!

I'll post a blog post along similar lines tomorrow - which will be
easier to spread to people.

TIA

Vikas
