i3lock is a possible option. You can try it out with:

sudo apt-get install i3lock

and then

i3lock -i /usr/share/lxde/wallpapers/hamaramini.png -p default -n

This will lock the screen and you will need to type your password to 
unlock it.

The only drawback is - i3lock doesn't have a password input box - so you 
don't really know that you have to type a password!

Better suggestions welcome.
