[Hamara-devel] some functionality extensions for mediawiki

Hi all,
Here are some functionality extensions to mediawiki :-

a. Easy Timeline :- See
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EasyTimeline - This is
necessary for knowing where we are with the project and updating
things along the way.

b. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategoryTree - To be able
to parse various categories - this is both good for admin as well as
users of the wiki.

c. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CentralNotice - Basically
ability to have a notice put up once, shows up on all and every page.

d. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:FeaturedFeeds - Ability to
have RSS feeds of whatever new has changed or something the user is
watching.

e. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LocalisationUpdate - This
is already bundled, sharing because some technical information as to
how to keep localization update is shared. Would need to be seen if
needed or not.

f. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:BetaFeatures - This is
needed for some features which we would integrate and would take time
to be stable.

g. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:ExtensionDistributor/VisualEditor
- This needs Extension:Beta Features . The extension helps to make it
easier to edit .

h. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Babel - This is needed if
we are going to have more than one language in the wiki.

i. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:I18nTags - Needed if we
are going to have a multi-lingual wiki.

j. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CLDR - The CLDR extension
contains local language names for different languages, countries,
currencies, and time units extracted from CLDR data.

These could be done later -

a. Secure Poll https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SecurePoll -
When we have some groups of users we could use this to poll for new
ideas/features or whatever.

b. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:GuidedTour - This actually
makes a game-like experience. Could be used to make new users edit
wikis and more. Uses gamification quite a bit.

c. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Popups - Basically you are
able to hover on any link which is a full article and you get a
snapshot of that page as an image. But this needs :-

d. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:TextExtracts

e. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:PageImages
