As per bug 'Replace highlight.js with rouge-fork rugments (Stefan 
Tatschner)' They have replaced highlight.js [web code syntax hightlight 
library] with rugments. And they have added their own additions after 
fork. For more information check weblink

I do not think so that it would create any issue.

Regarding backups, I guess weekly backup should be sufficient.
