Hi all,
I recently tried out coursera because one of my friends had tried it out
and had a good opinion. Co-incidentally came to know about coursera-dl
which is a download manager for Videos from the Coursera website for
oneself.

It took me sometime to figure out how the system works, see :-

https://github.com/coursera-dl/coursera/issues/340

but once I knew how, went across to a friend's place who has high
bandwidth and was able to download the same course from his end in
around 2-3 hours, the whole thing came to 7-8 GB for the single course
for the on-demand recommend course.

Co-incidentally or not, rbrito or Roger brito is a DD and he is thinking
of packaging coursera-dl for Debian as well.

I have lost the link atm but apparently there are third-party service
providers who have partnered with coursera, they download the courses +
web-pages and sell them to students with some mark-up to the courses
mentioned in local currency. If I find those links again will surely
forward them.

This is directed more as in a higher-education product but could still
be useful as well.

I have seen some pretty interesting courses on the coursera site,
although there are quite a few competing MOOC's out there as well.

Look forward to knowing what you all think.
