Hi all,
I just had a nice little conversation with some of the actors in the
debian-science blend. There is going to be a sub-team looking at
robotics software in the debian-science blend now.

Couple of packages that could be uploaded any day now :-

http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-science/packages/ros
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-science/packages/orocos/

http://www.ros.org/
http://www.orocos.org/

The only hitch might be the ftp-master but then I guess I have shared
that before but even that turns out to be an issue the packaging is
there for us to use/re-use how we see fit.

The people are enthusiastic and have asked me if there is any specific
software that I would like them to package.

@Raju - any ideas or softwares that you think will be good for us, lemme
know will pass it on them so we don't need to do much work for packaging.

The offer is not only to Raju but all, anybody who knows of a copyleft
robotics software and think it will be a good fit for educational
purposes let me know and I'll pass on the message.

There were other interesting conversations as well and I'll appraise of
them once we have an .iso we can build upon.

Look forward to feedback.
