[Hamara-devel] downstream versioning - how do you do it in kali ?

Dear Jonas,

As shared by you, you are contributing towards kali - a sort of take on 
what was backtrack linux several years ago. I was looking at how Debian 
does the major-minor package versioning numbers, As you are also a 
downstream distribution (and putting on that hat) could you share how 
kali does downstream package versioning when you take packages upstream 
from Debian.

Also, have there been any packages which kali has been instrumental in 
packaging and pushing the results upstream to Debian ?
