The picture I read from above is Daniel being quite active in areas 
quite complex, but also him not being easy to collaborate with.

There have been tension for some time in Debian regarding Daniel 
colliding with others in the project.  Parts of that is not public, so 
if you get the feeling from Daniels post that there's more going on then 
you are right (it is his decision not to share more of it).
