Hi all,
While looking for interesting links on the web saw
https://oli4444.wordpress.com/2015/11/22/from-power-on-to-gtk-gui-usable-as-fast-as-possible/
Maybe some of the tips

used there could be used to boost hamara's boot up times on ARM.
One difference I see between the two is that we are looking at using
LXDE while the gentleman concerned aims to do the same thing but using
GNOME.
If we use GNOME then while on one hand development time may be cut in
half but then we are also banking on GNOME being there for quite a long
time.
And while today GNOME and GNOME Foundation is healthy, this may or may
not be true in future hence having two desktops does make our strategy
bit more flexible.
Although few days before was reading some material which had looked up
all desktop environments over period of times (for the life of me, don't
remember the link) it did share that all desktop environments had
fattened over time (as more and more functionality was felt needed) by
different users and developers to stay relevant. Even minimal desktop
environments like lxde and its ilk have fattened.
Part of it has also been that machinery itself has got more and more
powerful and can more things than before at lower cost.
