@ Aparana - just saw the irclogs and saw the conversation between you 
and Vikas.

You have two options :-

a. Search in youtube for movies between 1920-1940's because those movies 
are known/told/believed to be out of copyright status. Don't sue me 
because IANAL (I am not a lawyer) and at that not an IPIANAL


The second option you have both within youtube - it is a bit hidden in 
that, and vimeo is to use creative commons documentaries and there are 
quite a bit there.

On Vimeo, for instance you can use this :- https://vimeo.com/85074905

or any video which is CC-Attribution-ShareAlike.

We can just provide the link of the video/artist or even just the name 
below.

Take your pick.
