Hi all,

Openaccessweek is celebrated every year (It is the 7th year running.)

For a bit of background see openaccessweek.org and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Access_Week

In one of my previous lives/jobs I was also the initiator of this in my
old company.

The idea of open access is an excuse to talk about FOSS, its ideals in
the organization itself and wherever opportunity presents itself.

Few interesting things which are happening -

a. https://www.mapbox.com/blog/open-access-week/ - They are doing a
missing maps thing starting this coming Wednesday and then whole week.

b. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/The_Wikipedia_Library/OA_week -
Wikipedia is doing a virtual edit-a-thon where everybody can take part.

Data.gov.in is going to do 2 events, one in Bengaluru and one in
Ahemdabad this week where they are going to share their future plans.

Open access is part of the culture of FOSS .

For starters, what we could do is to write a blog post on the work that
we have been doing and share stats about our git repo.

I am/would be willing to write a blog post about the git repo and share
some stats about the same.

I hope that the Delhi office can also do some sort of small party or
something and share about the hamara efforts with rest of people at
techblue.
