Hi all,
Some interesting tit-bits from the release notes -
* at-spi2-atk:
- Enable accessibility by default in gtk2 applications.
* at-spi2-core:
- Enable accessibility in Qt4 and Qt5 applications when the kde
desktop is configured to start the screen reader.
This actually has a grave bug, see bugs.debian.org/803098 which was
fixed in 24 hours, wow .

* os-prober:
- Adjust extended dos partition support for recent versions of
blkid/util-linux (#735169).
- Add support for Windows 10, otherwise reported as Windows
Recovery Environment (#801278). - This is good if people want to
dual-boot. I recently did a Windows 7 machine, was able to have the
Windows 7 loader work with UEFI up and running.
Localization status
===================
* 75 languages are supported in this release.
* Full translation for 15 of them.
- This is I guess where we make our mark for starters. See
https://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n/languages.html
There are some basic graphs which can be seen at
http://i18n.debian.net/
Also https://www.debian.org/international/l10n/ddtp
As can be seen it is a big task because just not d-i or whatever
installer tool we need to localize, more insane or/and importantly even
the names of package, package description (both short and long) need to
be translated as well, i.e. mountain of work.
One more interesting bit is support for Loongson . This is hardware that
RMS or Richard M. Stallman works/ed upon. It's a Chinese chip and
apparently it doesn't have black boxes that Intel and AMD do. They use
coreboot unlike the UEFI blackbox implementation that the majors do, so
much more hackable. And I *think* that was done for enhanced privacy due
to Jacob Appelbaum's talk about Edward Snowdem and how it is necessary
for him/us to have access to machines which do not have blackboxes.
Also, as can be seen it is based on mips (so a RISC chip) . RMS used one
of the Lemote versions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIPS_instruction_set
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loongson
http://www.lemote.com/products/computer/yilong/312.html
Note - The Wikipedia page on Loongson is quite a bit slanted, there are
probably few reasons why it's slanted but more on that in some other mail.
* linux:
- [mips*el/loongson-3] udeb: Add fb-modules containing radeon
driver (#776274).

The Debian Installer team[1] is pleased to announce the fourth alpha
release of the installer for Debian 9 "Stretch".
Important changes in this release of the installer
==================================================
* Full CD sets were removed, as announced earlier in the Summary of
the Debian CD BoF at DebConf15:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2015/09/msg00004.html
* Almost all alternative options for CD#1 were removed, since the
installer gives en easy choice of desktop selection during task
selection, since Jessie. Only Xfce CD#1 remains as a single-CD
desktop system.
