Went through the bug that Anant shared. AFAIK testoptia is an optional
plug-in. I do know and remember that was talk of people writing
test-cases and running them.
I would suggest we go for it, just need to mail a statement that we
would be upgrading bugzilla and hence bugzilla instance would be down
for sometime and once it's up, sharing the same and asking people to
mail if they come across any issues.
Incidentally, at the first time I was going through bugzilla, I had
wondered why bugzilla is not in Debian and then saw #638705 and #669643
in the debian BTS.
There could be a case of debian-packaging bugzilla 5 as well if hamara
wants to go for it, it would be a real contribution to Debian and could
be considered once bugzilla has been updated on our own server.
The two main features that would come are with the new version are :-
a. Being able to see number of recent bugs filed at a glance (so we know
which new bugs were filed and when.)
b. Being able to mail replies to bugzilla instead of having to go to the
relevant page. So people like me who like mail interfaces better rather
than bugzilla pages could do it from one interface.
Look forward to seeing the new version on hamara server soonish.
