Check :
<a moz-do-not-send="true" class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://bazaar.launchpad.net/%7Eubuntu-branches/ubuntu/wily/xkeyboard-config/wily/view/head:/debian/control">http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/wily/xkeyboard-config/wily/view/head:/debian/control</a>
I don't see any Conflicts (or Breaks or Replaces) defined there for
xkb-data-i18n. Please share the log when you try to install xkb-data-i18n

Seems that the packages are potentially the same but named
differently.<br>
<br>
In your helper, I think you should patch the control file and
replace xkb-data-i18n with xkb-data<br>
</blockquote>
xkb-data and xkb-data-i18n, both are listed as dependencies. in
control file.<br>
<pre><code><a moz-do-not-send="true" class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://paste.hamaralinux.org/?aa5cf7fe127f7f0e#bGwCvw52t8vlJRD4lYgvoOmF3iYNFIlhZh46asfdZMI=">https://paste.hamaralinux.org/?aa5cf7fe127f7f0e#bGwCvw52t8vlJRD4lYgvoOmF3iYNFIlhZh46asfdZMI=</a>
</code></pre>
I am removing xkb-data-i18n from dependencies, will see if it
builds and installs..<br>
</blockquote>
I suspect that will build - but we do need to resolve this conflict.<br>
<br>
Debian contains xkb-data but not xkb-data-i18n.<br>
<br>
Ubuntu say that xkb-data-i18n contains translations for xkb-data.<br>
<br>
According to your install log however - it seems debian's xkb-data
contains at least one of the translations that come from
xkb-data-i18n.<br>
<br>
Is it just that these are two packages in Ubuntu - but one package
in Debian?<br>
